The Final Goodbye

Our magazine is almost done
It has been quite a lot of fun

Soon it will be released
And our work will have ceased

I hope you will enjoy
Our magazine girl and boy

We have worked very hard
And gone the extra yard

For your reading pleasure
We have done the extra measure

We hope you like it
More than a bit
If you don't we will scream holy moly

Thanks for reading
For this magazine, we did a lot of bleeding
Just kidding
Cause that would be weird

Homeless Pianist

"Dude, I can get the homeless man to teach me!" Yep, you heard it right, I want to learn piano from a homeless man. Roger Lambert is a homeless man who choses to spend his time playing piano instead of working to get a job and home. He is truly dedicated and loves what he does. Isn't that how all musicians should play? Mr. Lambert is setting up a program of music to play and is offering lessons. Texas vs. Louisiana Tech

Texas - 89 vs. Louisiana Tech - 58 Freshman Update [Forward Tristan Thompson]

Freshman F - Tristan Thompson

Freshman Forward Tristan Thompson came alive last night in the Men's basketball game against Louisiana Tech. He was 6-11 (54%) from the field and had 17 points. He was 5-7 on free throws. The Horns overall have been a lot better in the area of free throws through the first 2 games. It was evidently an area of focus after last year's abysmal free throw problems. Thompson also had 3 assists, average for a forward, 3 blocks and 3 steals. This is a promising performance for the future.

Vs. Louisiana Tech: News and Notes
Jordan Hamilton had another solid performance with 19 points and is playing much more like a team player compared to last year....Andrew Dick, Trent Morgan and Dean Melchionni got their first playing time of the year.....Senior leader Gary Johnson had a solid performance with 15 points and an assist

Play of the Game: Dogus Balbay
Balbay, normally a defensive player, showed his offensive prowess on this play. Balbay drove into the lane for the lay-up. Louisiana Tech went on the fast break and Balbay sprinted down the court and blocked the attempted shot. This shows Balbay has both offensive and defensive potential. He had 8 points in the game.

Texas vs. Navy - Men's Basketball

Texas - 83 vs. Navy - 52
After losing the likes of their Colt McCoy (Damion James) and Jordan Shipley (Dexter Pittman) of basketball, there where questions about how the team would fair this year. The team has a lot of young players this year and that may translate into freshman mistakes. The men's first game of the year was Monday versus the Navy Midshipmen, in Austin.

Starting Lineup:
Corey Joseph a freshman, Dogus Balbay , Matt Hill, Jordan Hamilton and Gary Johnson, who many expect to fill the shoes of Damion James this year.

Freshman Watch:
A reassuring sight was the play of freshman forward Tristan Thompson. He scored 12 points in the game, and had 7 rebounds.  He was 4-10 on free throws however, which needs to improve.

Stats:
The Horns improved in both field goal and free throw percentage from the first to second half, finishing with a free throw percentage of 55%. Free throws in clutch moments where a sticky subject last year, even with all the experience on the team.

POTG:
The play of the game goes to Jordan Hamilton. He was 10-17 from the field, including 3-8 from 3 point land to finish with a double-double. He had 26 points and 10 rebounds.
