Thundercloud subsThundercloud is Austin's own sub sandwich restaurant. There are shops in South Austin, Central Austin, Downtown, and in North Austin. There are two Thunderclouds within walking distance of my house. The most visited location is probably the store on Lake Austin Blvd. On any day during lunch time you will see at least 15 people either eating their favorite sub sandwich or in line ordering. My last visit with Mr. Hammondeggs was splendid. We received great service and awesome sandwiches. We also got a nice break after biking around town to find great spots to take pictures. I got the the large classic sub, "wich" had turkey, chicken, bacon, lettuce, tomato, american and provalone chesse, on wheat bread. My partner in crime Mr. Hammondeggs had a small meatball sub with american chesse on white bread. If I had to pick Thundercloud or Subway I would go with Thundercloud any day. I'd make that choice because I'm all about supporting the local businesses. By eating local and being the healthy person I am, I need a healthy meal after a long bike ride. I know my Mr. Hammondeggs would agree with me on that. People enjoy Thundercloud because it is a great and cheap. Plus Thundercloud sponsors "Fun Runs" in Austin such as the Turkey Trot. This shows that Thundercloud is supporting a healthy living style.
